Check Out the Food Environment Atlas

New from our friends at the United States Department of Agriculture is the Food Environment Atlas, a very interesting tool that allows the comparison of dozens of variables, such as the availability of farmers markets, the rate of diabetes and even the price of milk on as detailed as a county-by-county level. Not only is it a very good resource for all kinds of statistics but, as anyone who likes colors/maps/colored maps is surely aware, it’s very easy to lose yourself in for an hour or two. Check it out and see how your state or county stacks up to your all-too-smug neighbors (I’m looking at you, Kendall County, IL)!
