Summer Jobs with Environment Illinois

The Fund for the Public Interest is a national non-profit organization that works to build support for progressive organizations across the country.  We run campaigns for USPIRG, Environment America, the Human Rights Campaign, and Fair Share Alliance.

This summer, we are running an office in Chicago, IL to build support for Environment Illinois.  We will work on a campaign to help defend Lake Michigan and close loopholes in the Clean Water Act that leave waterways unprotected from pollution.  Currently, more than half the streams in Illinois and surrounding Great Lakes states are unprotected and many waters in the Chicago area are so polluted that you can’t swim in them or fish from them, let alone drink the water.  The EPA is considering closing these loopholes this summer, but needs to see the public’s support!

This is your chance to spend your summer working for a great cause, while gaining valuable campaign leadership experience.
