The University of Illinois Extension office announced this week that U of I Springfield will be hosting a screening of Deborah Koons Garcia’s film Symphony of the Soil. Garcia’s film is a loving tribute to the “exploration of the miraculous substance, soil,” and its relationships to every step of our ecosystem; water, the atmosphere, plants, animals and, of course, humanity. Filmed on four continents, Symphony promises to be an epic on a subject not typically known for inspiring such efforts.
The event is sponsored by the U of I Extension at the U of I Springfield and the Illinois Stewardship Alliance, and will take place from October 4-6 at 8:30pm at Brookens Auditorium, 1 University Plaza, and will be free. More information on the film, should you be interested, can be found at here
