A research collaboration between Purdue University and the University of Cambridge has been launched to explore how AI-informed tools can support farmers’ cover crop management decisions in the Midwest. The goal is to provide farmers with location-specific, data-driven information to support decisions such as cover crop planting and termination.
They are seeking your help in reaching row crop farmers to share their experiences, whether they currently use cover crops or not. Their input will directly shape the development of AI-based decision-support tools tailored to farmers’ needs. As an appreciation, participants will receive $60 for completing two short surveys.

Study Highlights:
- Farmers who complete a short survey now and a follow-up in September will receive $60 compensation.
- The study uses credible agricultural data to power AI tools that support adaptive cover crop decisions.
- Participation is anonymous, and all data will be used strictly for research purposes.
- Both surveys must be completed for participation to be valid. If a participant does not plan to complete the September survey, they should refrain from starting the first one. Reminder emails will be sent.
- No prior experience with cover crops is necessary; they welcome responses from both users and non-users.
