SIU is looking for an Assistant Professor (tenure track) in Environmental Sustainability to start August 16, 2020. The position will be housed within the School of Earth Systems and Sustainability is a newly formed school affiliated with the College of Science and houses programs in Geography and Environmental Resources (geography.siu.edu).
Competitive candidates will have earned doctorate in Geography, Geology, or a closely related field on or before August 15, 2020 and have relevant teaching and research experience. The applicant’s professional record should demonstrate ability and/or high potential to publish, secure external funding. Preference will be given to applicants with a focus on applied research in sustainability science that complements existing strengths in the School of Earth Systems and Sustainability. Post-doctoral experience is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities: teaching of upper and lower level courses, service on M.S. and Ph.D. student committees; maintaining an active and successful research program that includes external research support; and appropriate service.
