Tree Crop Analysts

The Savanna Institute seek applicants for full or part time positions who share their passion for regenerative and resilient agriculture. This is a non-profit organization based in Madison, Wisconsin and Urbana, Illinois that engages in strategic research and education in partnership with farmers, scientists, and other stakeholders to develop perennial food and fodder crops with broad utility.

They are looking to hire one or more analysts to work in the Midwest and are flexible in terms of where these analysts reside.  Some travel will be required and pay will be commensurate with experience. Health insurance is available for a full-time position.  ​All qualified applicants welcome and members of under-represented groups are encouraged to apply. A Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in a relevant field with experience in agricultural business and
food system development is desired. The start date would be on or after​ July 1, 2018.

Primary Responsibilities
● Conduct market & supply chain research
● Identify commercialization bottlenecks
● Assess germplasm characteristics & scalability
● Synthesize stakeholder knowledge

● Prepare reports & deliver presentations
● Write tree crop development funding proposals
● Organize tree crop advisory committees
