Everyone who fills out a membership form and/or a “Share Form” on the National Farm to School Network (NFSN) website during October (National Farm to School Month) will be entered to win a drawing for $1,000 to spend on a farm to school/preschool project in their community! Five additional drawing winners will also be eligible to apply for a free Project Learning Garden™ lesson kit from Captain Planet Foundation that is valued at $1,000; however, winners must have an existing elementary school garden to qualify.
The benefits of membership
Aside from being entered in the drawing, by signing up for a free membership you’ll receive the NFSN e-mail newsletter and will hear about special events like the National Farm to Cafeteria Conference. You will also gain access to the members-only area of their website. As a special offer during Farm to School Month, Organic Valley is offering a downloadable coupon for NFSN members.
Members and non-members can fill out the Share Form, which they use to collect stories about what’s happening on the ground. These stories help them advocate for and raise awareness about for farm to school. Have more than one story to tell? Fill out the form as many times as you want! Every complete submission with a unique story submitted during October will gain you another entry in their contest.
