Jobs Alert for Seniors

On March 9st a representative from U.S.PIRG, a collection of state-based advocacy groups, will be on U of I’s campus for an information session on recent job openings, to take place at 7pm in Davenport 113. To quote the organization itself,

“U.S.PIRG is a federation of state-based public interest advocacy groups.  We will be      holding an Information Sessions is Wednesday, March 9th in Davenport Hall Room 113 at 7pm. I encourage you to participate in either opportunity and get in touch with me if you are interested.  You can also sign up directly through the career center.

With U.S. PIRG, you can actually get paid to take on and solve the problems our country faces; from advocating for policies that will make sure that the food we eat and the water we drink are safe and free of toxic chemicals, to researching the solutions to challenging issues, like balancing the federal budget  U.S. PIRG has 35 year track record of organizing on these issues. And, we’re hiring over 100 graduating seniors to jump right in and make a critical impact on these issues as a campus organizer or in our fellowship program.” (from website)

U.S.PIRG will most likely be discussing the positions of campus organizer, which a recent UIUC graduate, class of ’09, is currently doing in Colorado for the organization.
