Become a NCRS Technical Service Provider

The USDA is putting a call out to all organic inspectors, crop advisors, organic farmers and non-governmental employees working with organic and sustainable farmers to partake in a November 1 Technical Service Provider training webinar. The USDA defines the position as “individuals or businesses that have technical expertise in conservation planning and design for a variety of conservation activities.”

As a TSP, you will add a skill valued by all nearly every step of organic and sustainable production. To be registered as a TSP, you must go through the required training, but luckily, the USDA is offering such a training program, through the National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT). The program will be hosted by Harriet Behar, Organic Specialist at MOSES, the Midwest Organic and Sustainable Education Service. Though this webinar will not fully qualify you to become a TSP, it bills itself as an introductory course in the subject. If you’re interested in taking the webinar, you can register here.

The official starting time of the webinar will be 1 Eastern/12 Central-2EST/1CST, November 1, 2012.
