Job Opening: Food Processing Certification Specialist

Attention anyone who wants/needs a job: the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association announced this week an immediate opening for a full-time position, based in Columbus, OH, as a Food Processing Certification Specialist. The position will be responsible for providing support in reviewing applications submitted by organic processors and producers, providing technical assistance and maintaining compliance with federal organic standards. Participation in policy development and educational programming will also be required. According to the job description provided by the OEFFA, qualifications for any job applicant should include:

  • Experience related to organic processing certification regulations and procedures
  • Experience with food processing, food science, and/or operational audits
  • Outstanding organizations skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Sincere desire to assist organic processors and farmers
  • Knowledge of general office procedures
  • Bachelor degree in a relevant field preferred
