The Central Illinois Sustainable Farming Network will be hosting a workshop focusing on pasture management, animal health, and livestock production in Sidney, IL (very close to C-U!) on June 9th. The workshop will feature a tour of Bane Family Meats and Rush Creek Farms, led by Jennifer and Andrew Miller of Rush Creek Farms. I happen to know that Sidney has a great ice cream place called the Dairy Barn, so make a day of it; go on the tour, get some ice cream, enjoy summer.
